Boarding Up Areas Around Bracknell
Boarding Up Bracknell covers Bracknell and nearby towns and villages. We board and secure windows, doors, shopfronts, roofs and empty properties. The quickest way to check whether we cover your address is to ring with your postcode. A person answers 24 hours a day and can tell you on the call whether we can attend and roughly when we’d arrive. We don’t publish arrival times because they depend on where you are and when you call.
Call 01344 951 955 or Email us with your postcode and a short description of the damage.
Bracknell
We cover Bracknell itself, including addresses in RG12 and RG42, subject to confirming your location on the call. The town has a wide mix of buildings, and each opening needs the right approach:
- Town-centre shops and offices. Retail around pedestrianised Braccan Walk and the mixed shops, offices and flats along Market Street bring a variety of openings. Tell us the size of any damaged glazing and how it can be reached.
- New Town estates. Easthampstead was one of the original neighbourhoods built under the Bracknell Master Plan. Describe your window or door and whether its frame is still sound so we can discuss the fixings.
- Older and newer housing. The council describes pockets of Victorian development alongside estates of different ages. Older timber sashes and frames sometimes need more care with fixings so they can be repaired properly later.
- Office buildings. Larger commercial windows and entrance doors may need more sheets, higher access and security fixings.
Our van carries boarding stock and fixings. We’ll discuss the openings, access and scope of the work with you before agreeing the quote.

Does boarding up cover my postcode in Bracknell?
Most likely, yes, but we don’t promise blanket coverage for any postcode. RG12 and RG42 cover a lot of ground, and two addresses in the same postcode can involve very different trips and access. Here’s what we need to know on the call:
- Your full postcode, so we can work out whether we can attend and when.
- What’s damaged, for example a broken ground-floor window, a forced back door, a shopfront pane or a skylight.
- Roughly how big the opening is, and how many there are.
- Access, such as whether it’s upstairs, above a shop, behind a locked gate or reached only by ladder.
- Safe photographs, if you can take them without going near broken glass or unsafe structures.
From that we’ll give you a free, clear quote before any work starts. The price depends on the number and size of openings, height and access, the materials and board thickness, the fixing method, whether a damaged door or frame needs securing first, and any glass or debris that needs making safe. The pricing page explains these factors in more detail.
What we secure across the area
Wherever you are in our coverage area, the service is the same:
- Windows. Most homes and small commercial windows are boarded with exterior-grade plywood, typically 18mm. We sometimes use OSB for smaller openings. See window boarding for how it’s done.
- Doors. We secure forced or damaged doors, frames and locks.
- Shopfronts and commercial premises. This includes shops, offices, restaurants and warehouses.
- Roofs and skylights. We work on these where access can be arranged safely.
- Vacant and void properties. We board windows and doors on empty homes and commercial units for landlords and agents.
We use non-destructive fixing where the frame allows, which makes the permanent repair easier later. If a frame is too damaged to hold board securely, we’ll explain the options before we start. Boarding is the make-safe stage. It keeps the property secure and weathertight so the glazier or joiner can do the permanent repair when it suits you.
After the work
Once the openings are secured, you’ll receive an itemised invoice, time-stamped before and after photographs, and a written statement of the work we did. Insurers often ask for these. Your insurer decides what’s covered. The insurance claims guide explains how the paperwork fits in.
If a property has been broken into, report it to the police, keep the crime reference number and contact your insurer. Photograph the damage if it’s safe to do so. If the damage happened tonight and you need someone urgently, our 24-hour emergency boarding up page explains what happens next.
