Sample customer testimonials

“Someone put a brick through our front room window late on a Saturday. I rang expecting a voicemail and got a person straight away. They asked for the postcode and the size of the window, told me what it would cost before anyone set off, and boarded it with plywood that looked properly fitted rather than slapped on. Our glazier came the following week and the board came off without marking the frame.”

Claire D., Binfield – Window boarding

“Our shop door glass and one of the side panels were smashed overnight. I sent photos from my phone while I was still on the call, which saved a lot of explaining. The front was boarded with security fixings so we could lock up and open again while we sorted the new glass. The invoice and photographs went to our insurer the same afternoon.”

Raj P., Bracknell town centre – Shopfront boarding

“Back door forced and the frame split by the lock. They explained the frame needed securing before anything else, and walked me through the options instead of just getting on with it. I’d already reported it to the police, and they reminded me to keep the crime reference number handy for the insurer. Calm, tidy, and they swept up the glass.”

Tom W., Warfield – Door boarding

“Skylight cracked in the storm and water was getting into the landing. They went through the access on the phone first, which I appreciated, and covered it properly so we stayed dry until the roofer could come.”

Helen M., Crowthorne – Roof and skylight boarding

“I manage a few rentals and needed a property boarded between tenants. Clear quote on the phone, ground-floor windows and the back door secured, and I got before and after photos plus a written note of what was done for the landlord’s file. Exactly what I needed.”

Sam K., Sandhurst – Vacant property securing

“Polite, careful and didn’t rush me at a horrible time. Would call again.”

Margaret L., Ascot – Window boarding

How we approach the work

The examples above reflect the practical details we discuss before securing an opening:

  • A person on the phone, any hour. We attend nights, weekends and bank holidays. Arrival time depends on where you are, so we’ll work it out with you on the call from your postcode.
  • A clear quote before work starts. It’s free and agreed on the call, based on the openings, access, materials and any damage to the frame. There’s more on this on our pricing page.
  • The right fix for the opening. That’s usually exterior-grade plywood, often 18mm, with OSB for smaller gaps and security fixings where they’re needed. Where a frame is badly damaged, we’ll explain the options first.
  • Paperwork for your insurer. You’ll get an itemised invoice, time-stamped before and after photographs and a written statement of the work done. Your insurer decides what’s covered, and our insurance claims guide explains what to keep.

Boarding makes the property safe and secure so permanent repairs, such as new glazing or a replacement door, can follow when you’re ready.

We’ve worked in the trade for over 10 years, we’re fully insured (certificate on request) and DBS-checked. You can read more about us, or see how window boarding works if that’s the job you’re facing.
